Great service, the food looks great but the portion is small. Not sure it's worth the price you pay. For fine dining, look elsewhere.
Lovely outlook...exceptional service.
The food is really good. Friendly service. Beautiful view and nice ambiance.
Good food, good vibe and excellent service.
Booked a table and confirmed one day before. When arriving, no one is in the restarant, It is empty apart from two cleaners on site. We asked for a table at the waterfront but were told By the waitress they were all booked, three in total. However two tables were still empty without anyone showing up even after we had finished our lunch i.e. one and half hours later. This is very bad! Service like this is not expected from a five star hotel. My sashimi travelly starter is a bit fancy, dressing overpowered, fish is dry. 3 stars for this. Scotch fillet is nice, cooked perfectly but a bit salty, 4 stars. Market fish Risotto tastes a bit weird, snapper on the Risotto is too hard and dry, won't recommend! 2 stars. Fries are nice, 5 stars. Service is good, a bit slow though.
Great spot. Food was delicious and service couldn't have been better 👍
The food is just spectacular - I'm not a big beef fan but the beef wellington was so juicy and tender, the best I've ever had. The starters have a lot of flavour and use fresh ingredients, and the desserts are also great, sweet but not too sweet. Customer service is on par - the waiters are knowledgeable about the menu and are friendly. Only downside was the table next t to us the customers were scratching the plate with their knife & fork while eating, which hurt my ears. Overall the experience was still well worth it, we will be back.
Went to FISH Restaurant for an anniversary dinner and was not disappointed. Romantic atmosphere and delicious food to match.
Absolutely lovely service! And the food was devine. A very nice fine dinning restaurant, would be happy to go back again!
Amazing food and service. We got the Scotch fillet and market fish for main and was a 10/10. Will be rushing back
Experienced a wonderful Christmas lunch. Thank you Megan 👌👌🥂😄 for the great service.
Best view of the wharf in auckland city. Food was amazing too!
Very friendly and attentive staff, lovely surroundings, great view. Food was very good quality and flavour overall, lamb rump and macarons especially. A very nice experience!
Delishious
Ordered the queen crab entree and was surprised by the burst of mouth filling flavours. Also had the lamb belly, so deliciously tender and rich. Smoked octopus I feel is an iconic dish here too, very nicely presented and tastes amazing. Everything is nice. I highly recommended this place.
The food was tasty but the starter portion sizes could be slightly larger. The waiter was asking what we wanted to eat from the moment we sat down, and repeatedly tried to take our order for mains while we were busy eating our starters. I had to ask if I could just first finish eating my starter first (after I had asked twice in the space of 10 minutes to be given a moment to decide). I would have preferred some more time and not left feeling rushed on my Birthday. He also couldn't give an idea as to what chocolate selection the chef had made. Why he couldn't just have asked, as I requested, I don't know. He didn't make us feel welcome or valued. Overall a bit of an underwhelming experience and we probably wouldn't return. My partner was also ill 10 minutes after we left the restaurant. Not the best Birthday...
Had a really good time with the high tea experience. The view, food and service were amazing. Thanks to the restaurant manager Daniel :)
Good restaurant, with a good view and drinks, was here for an 80th and FISH really made it special! High class food and great drinks
Went for their high tea experience which costs $63 per person. Unfortunately, apart from the Zealong tea it was very disappointing and hugely overpriced for what was offered. Not only were the options unexciting and cheap but they had also stale from sitting on the counter for the whole day (we went in the afternoon). In terms of savoury options there was a heavy reliance on 'puried' pastes on bread which just seems a bit cheap (not to mention the purees had hardened and darkened, which tells me they weren't being made fresh throughout the day). I personally didn't have much more in me to try the dessert items but my mother said they were also average and underwhelming. Definitely not what you would want to be getting given the price, reputation and reviews. Haven't tried the actual restaurant food, but based on this experience I have little incentive to return. We spoke to the supervisor and provided feedback. The supervisor was cordial and professional but there seemed (from my perspective) to be a reluctance to admit that there was something wrong with the food, rather that we were entitled to have our own opinion. We were allowed to only pay for one persons high tea (there were two of us) but given the quality even that really seemed like a rip off, but I did not wish to argue as I had tried a number of options in trying to find something redeeming. Service otherwise was good, definitely no complaints there and the venue is obviously nice. These are the reason I'm giving 2 stars. But the food was a huge let down and I would not recommend spending your money here.
Awesome afternoon
Great view and friendly staff. The high tea was quite underwhelming. The canapés were limited and not something to be excited about. Fortunately the Zeelong teas were nice.
Tried their weekend afternoon tea. Service 4 stars, environment 3.5 stars, food 1 star.
Loved it
Fantastic and friendly staff. Amazing 180 degree view. The high tea was a great experience
It was a great experience, the Argentinean waiter was equally the highlight along with the food and stunning view! I felt very honored 🙏
Serendipity High Tea. The service and setting was 5 star, we enjoyed our visit. As per other people's reviews the food is not 5 star. The scones are flat, hard and dense. This should be addressed as it has been raised in other reviews. As does the solid not-so molten camembert. The choux pastry was soft, as were some of tart cases. The blue cheese tart and yuzu tarts were delicious. The service is great and because of this I reccomend people give it ago.
Great place! Excellent food and very friendly and skilled staff!!
We went for High tea. I've never been to high tea buffet or any dessert buffet in Auckland NZ so I was so excited. Price was around 60 dollars including tea but excluding coffee. Not many variety of food compare to other hilton's dessert buffet. I didn't like their scone. It wasn't a tasty scone for me. Quality of food was good.
Our family are spending a great time in celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. We love the services and food in the Fish Restaurant. The environment in/out is excellent!
Dining at Fish Restaurant definitely gives the feeling of opulence the food is extraordinary and the service exceptional
Nice 👌
The dishes are creative The Sea view is also beautiful👅 But the taste is ordinary
We had snapped and lamb oh what a beautiful taste the place is very cozy and window views are gorgeous you can come day or night but views and food will be fresh
Taste is so fresh that every ingredient feels real while you have the first bite till the last bite
Very friendly, warm, charming staff. Top food with a nice glass of red, of course
Crayfish mac and cheese, very decadent.
FISH is located on the first floor of the Hilton Auckland Hotel, which allows you to have a beautiful view over the water and enjoy a jazzy ambiance during the evenings, ideal for a romantic dinner or for a business meeting as well. Their fish was perfectly cooked, and I would recommend the squids as a starter before ordering either the market fish, the toothfish or salmon. Service was also pretty good, and they have a good set of options when it comes to wine too. Definitely worth a visit.
Oh what a total anticlimax Fish was. Anticipated eating here for a celebration for some time. Stunning day, stunning setting overlooking the harbour. Asked to sit out on the deck but weren't allowed. By 7.00 when we left no-one had sat at the tables on the deck. Hmmm. Sunday evening it was pretty deserted, 2 couples, a group of 13 Chinese foreigners & us. The wait staff were pleasant & attentive. That & the setting are the only positives. Never in my life have I wanted to throw the main meal at the chef & walk out, until that is tonight. My disappointment was absolute. The entrees started to let us down. Scampi entree was so small it would fit in the middle of your hand for $28. Four tasty but tiny pieces, the rest of the entree from the sauce to the seaweed mat was bland. The salt & pepper squid equally tasteless, more bland white sauce & some sundried tomatoe mix, which was the only thing with flavour. The tempura Bluff oysters were the saving grace of the entrees but once again the dipping sauce was the universal bland white sauce. The main of lamb rump, sounded grand. Nicely cooked lamb but the paprika, pinenut herb taboulis, pomegranate sesame labneh was the biggest fail ever. The only flavour I got was something akin to cider vinegar, unedible. Lamb rump & vinegar, not a flavour combination that works so I just ate the lamb with no jus, tough brocollini & roast potatoe for $39. Sadly the worst meal I've ever had. My son took to pouring the butter sauce from the potatoes over his snapper. Why, because the snapper itself had no sauce & the surrounding combinations on the plate were "a bit spicy". The chef seems to have his flavour/texture combinations all wrong. The saddest thing is I won't remember my son's 15th for all the right reasons, I'll just remember the dreadful, expensive meaI I had. I won't ever return to Fish. I'll go to Soul or Giraffe or any one of the teaming restaurants in the Viaduct.
All in all it was a negative experience, the wait for the mains was well over 45 minutes and when the food finally did come my streak was dry, chewy and extremely overcooked. When I asked for it to be returned the waiter was not sure if my steak was over or under cooked??? Only reason I have not given a one star is because when the food did finally come it was quite tasty however not sure I will be going here to spend that kind of money again.
It was so good, but when the cruise ship arrived, the view was so bad.
Absolutely delicious...we shared an entree of lamb on tabouli with lebne and pomegranate and then each had our own appetizer and cocktails...it was perfect!!!
Like the good quality food and good service
For a special dinner occasion, I finally got to try out Fish Restaurant in the Hilton. Since the vista is breath taking and the service is fine dining almost, we were most impressed with the level of tentativeness from wait staff. They were most knowledgeable and engaging about the menu. Whilst being over zealous, we tried the Queen Crab in chilli bisque with kumara sourdough and caramelised. This was the highlight dish of the night. For mains, we ordered the crayfish tail fettuccine and rare Scotch fillet. Whilst the pasta was very well cooked and flavoursome with a butter sauce, the morsels of cray were either overcooked or frozen defrosted. This ruined the dish as the red meat almost seemed stewed. Overall, the dining experience was most pleasant and memorable. Highly recommended!
Great food, really improved over the 2 years when we visited last!
Amazing staff. Great food and views.
Very slow, ignored at front desk. Food was great.
I loved the fish!! Just superlative!
Pretty good seafood here. Professional staff.
Always a good time, excellent service, food and view. Ample parking spots available.
Awesome
